The boys take off with a film review for Ad Astra before landing the EC spaceship back on topic as they discuss the 5-way T20I series in Oman, with the hosts joined by Ireland, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Nepal.
The team then moves on to the recently-concluded South American Championships, where Argentina took out the men's competition and Brazil were the women's champions. Nick also has an interview with Chile women's captain Jeanette Garcés González. Conversation shifts to the bilateral T20I series played on the back of the recent Challenge League between Malaysia and Vanuatu, with the visitors finishing 3-2 victors. Meanwhile, Japan got some much-needed match practice with the novel Embassy Series hosted in Sano. Finally, we hear an extract from Tim's interview with author Tim Wigmore, who has a new book profiling the development of T20 cricket (full-length interview available to download).

In two Hong Kong stories broken at Emerging Cricket last week by Tim Cutler, the boys meet to discuss Anshuman Rath's quest to crack Indian cricket, as well as the revolt within the national team, leaving their T20 World Cup Qualifier campaign in disarray before a ball is bowled.
After Tim gives us his pearls of Hong Kong wisdom, we turn our attention the Asia Cup U19s where UAE, Nepal and Kuwait all competed. Finally the boys look at Nepal in depth, discussing the new EPL TV rights deal, ICC meetings and the globe-trotting Sandeep Lamichhane.

While most had predicted that Thailand would proceed from the global play off, the EC team are no less excited to wrap the event which saw the emergence of Sornnarin Tippoch's side from world record holders to World Cup qualifiers.
Firstly though, Ryan Campbell joins us to talk about the recent selections made for the men's T20 World Cup qualifier.
Afghanistan's victory in the one-off Test in Bangladesh is also touched on and we preview the USA hosted CWC League 2 tri-series with Namibia and PNG and the Malaysia leg of CWC Challenge League A.

The Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier draw has been released so the team dissects the group match ups and makes their predictions for the UAE hosted event which runs from 18 OCT - 2 NOV.
Bermuda correspondent Neil Joynson (@OpeningStatsman) joins the podcast (in his Bermuda shorts) from the North Atlantic island to give us his perspective on the recent T20WC Qualifiers there and how he thinks the team will fare in the global T20 World Cup qualifier.
With more countries taking advantage of universal T20 International status the challenge of maintaining accurate stats from all these events - who aren't all necessarily using Cricinfo - is also talked about, as the the Continental Cup finished up with the Austrian team taking home the winner's trophy.
